Modern ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will come with improved visuals and a slew of gameplay and quality of life improvements that will enhance the experience of classic JRPGs, Atlus explained today.
As reported by Persona Central, the biggest addition made to both games is Quick Save, which will allow players to save their game at any time. Other additions include improved visuals, the ability to change the difficulty at any time in Persona 3 Portable, and an album feature in Persona 4 Golden that will allow players to view story and Social Link events again.
Atlus has also shared a trailer that details new features that are included in the upcoming recent ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden. You can check out this new video below.

Persona 3 Portable will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on January 19, the same day that Persona 4 Golden launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Both games will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. You can learn more about the Steam version of Persona 4 Golden by checking out Kai’s piece.
Coming in at 13.63GB, this PC port of Persona 4 Golden delivers remastered visuals that exceed what the PlayStation Vita can produce on a 544p screen. The majority of the improvements are in the unlockable frame rate and the character models themselves. From what I can tell, still images for dialogue and menus remain the same as from the PlayStation Vita version with a few anti-aliasing touches just to make it look better on Full HD screens. Environmental textures and banners are cleaned up but have a fuzzy and cluttered look compared to how standout the character models are. Cutscene videos seem to be suffering a bit from compression.
