Since he ended production on BioShock Infinite and shut down Irrational Games, we’ve been waiting for what Ken Levine might work on next at his new 2K-funded Ghost Story studio. We’ve heard talk of “narrative Lego” and reports that development of the project has been thrown into turmoil. Well, today at The Game Awards, we finally got a look at Levine’s next big thing, titled Judas.
Judas is a BioShock-esque sci-fi narrative shooter, but it looks like it’s going to be much more open-ended. You are traveling on a doomed starship full of colorful characters, and it is up to you to recruit a team and find a way to escape. It doesn’t sound easy, but then, you don’t have many other options. Take a look at the first trailer for Judas below.
Well, consider me intrigued! Here’s a quick official description of Judas…
“Judas. A decaying starship. A desperate escape plan. You are the mysterious and deranged Judas. Your only hope for survival is to forge or break alliances with your worst enemies. Will you work together to fix what you’ve broken – or will you let it burn? Judas is a single-player, shooter The narrative is a first-person shooter developed by Ghost Story Games, a studio led by Ken Levine, director of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite”.
