HYTE Unveils Y40 Mid-Tower ATX Computer Case

HYTE unveils the Y40 mid-tower ATX PC case, which expands on the previously released Y60 case that allows compatible graphics cards to be mounted vertically inside the chassis. The new Y40 case supports up to four full 95mm slots for superior airflow between the graphics card and the glass side panel. HYTE also includes an intake fan hidden under the power supply cover, so fresh air can circulate upwards to increase cooling inside the chassis.

HYTE improves on its popular Y-series chassis with the newly designed Y40 Mid-Tower

HYTE includes a PCIE40 4.0 “luxury cable riser” to support new and fan-favorite GPUs, offering consumers three colors—white, red, and black—with cases to match the colors, similar to the Y60 variant.

The Y40 supports six half-height expansion cards behind the primary graphics card. The new chassis will support capture cards, PCI-E solid-state drives, sound cards, and other expansion cards as long as they are compatible with the case’s half-height form factor.

Two pre-installed 120mm fans provide adequate airflow throughout the body of the HYTE Y60. One is located under the power supply cover, and the other is located on the back of the case. The side mounts of Y40 can keep up to 280mm radiator with fixed thickness up to 120mm. There is also a 360mm ceiling mounted radiator bracket housing two radiators within the enclosure. Large radiators of 60mm or higher can be used to build custom ring pcs.

HYTE has noted that liquid-cooled graphics cards and processors that are cooled with a full dedicated loop or a hybrid cooler and an AIO processor cooler will receive a lower overall temperature impact when compared to the airflow layout of air-cooled graphics cards.

HYTE’s cable management outperforms competing models in that cables can be located behind the motherboard shelf and inside the power supply cover, maintaining a clean appearance on the inside of the case.

The Y40 case from HYTE is tool-free unless windshield removal is required. This is a feature consistent with all HYTE cases. Compared to the HYTE Y60, the Y40 offers improved thermal performance for the GPU. The HYTE Y40 is $150 compared to the $200 price of the Y60, with a volume of 50 liters.
