Dark Souls 3 Prequel Mod Dark Souls Archtrones is receiving new gameplay trailers and screenshots

Dark Souls 3 prequel mod ‘Dark Souls Archtrones’ has received several new screenshots and some gameplay clips.

Back in July this year, we already covered this upcoming Dark Souls 3 mod inspired by Satan’s Soul, and since last month, the team behind this exciting new project has released some new stills and short clips (thanks to DSOGaming). We’ve included the latest gameplay clips and screenshots below. The image used at the top of this post is also a new take shared recently.

This DLC volume was announced last year and aims to rearrange the world of Dark Souls 3 into 5 different worlds. As revealed by the development team, it will feature gameplay mechanics from Demon’s Souls. Additionally, the Dark Souls 3 prequel mod will introduce new 3D models as well as new animations, improved lighting, and more.

A demo of Dark Souls Archtrones is scheduled for release somewhere next year. So if you’re interested in giving this volume of DLC a spin, stay tuned.

“Archthrones is a comprehensive mod for Dark Souls 3 on a scale never seen before,” reads the mod description. “It’s been in development for almost two years now, but there’s still a lot we need to do.”

“An alternate story unfolds across five unique worlds, each accessed via the Nexus of Embers. Encounters with bosses and allies await in this hostile, yet beautifully reimagined version of Lothric and other Dark Souls regions.”

As said, this is an upcoming DLC mod for the PC version of Dark Souls 3. As such, console players will not be able to experience this interesting project inspired by Demon’s Souls.

Dark Souls 3 is now available worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The fourth installment of the Souls series was released back in 2016. After its release, the game received two expansions, the latest being The Ringed City DLC.
