Fully designed and featuring the latest CPUs/GPUs: Alienware / Dell Unveil 2023 Laptop Portfolio

press release: Alienware and Dell today unveiled six new gaming laptops including the Alienware m18 and m16, Alienware x16 and x14, and the Dell G16 and G15. And these aren’t small updates either — the list debuts updated form factors and materials, best-in-class performance upgrades, design and comfort improvements, as well as an overhauled Alienware Command Center.

As what defines outstanding gaming experiences constantly evolves, Alienware and Dell continue to differentiate themselves through meaningful, high-impact innovations that address the changing needs of gamers. Whether you’re a competitive gamer or a hobbyist, if freedom without compromise is what you value most, then look no further than our new fleet of high-performance laptops.

Alienware’s new laptops galvanize gamers with outstanding power, performance, and design

In 2019, we took the bold step of undergoing a complete portfolio redesign to differentiate Alienware’s brand identity from the industry. At that time, the landscape was full of red and black machines. At the time, we chose to rent a new course for Alienware and scrap the distinct space-age identity of our Epic design language.

The journey began with our design team sifting through endless dozens of sci-fi lore and artwork across a variety of media (comic books, games, illustrations, and movies). The goal was to project the iconic AW design 30 years into the future. This led us to our current design framework, known as Legend.

Legend 3 is now entering its third evolutionary phase, and debuts today on all four of Alienware’s new laptops. With an unwavering focus on form, function and quality, the latest devices offer intuitive design features that enhance interactivity and comfort – all while enabling high-performance technology.

Our family of Alienware gaming laptops has historically focused on 15-inch and 17-inch screens. That all changes today, with the introduction of a 16-inch and 18-inch screen alongside the 14-inch model unveiled last year (CES 2022). This foundational shift has been driven by improvements delivered via the Alienware Cryo-tech thermal solution that enables us to adopt these larger screens without making significant changes to the footprint of each device.

Across the new Alienware laptop lineup, we’ve enabled the following features to help ensure your gaming and entertainment experiences are comfortable, expressive, and fun:

  • Longer 16:10 screens offer more screen real estate for a greater field of view.
  • Dolby Atmos for immersive spatial audio and Dolby Vision for stunning visuals, so you can feel
    Closer to your favorite entertainment.
  • All panels feature ComfortView Plus, a hardware-based technology intended to reduce blue light emissions without affecting performance or image quality.
  • FHD webcam to improve the quality of video interactions.
  • The new bottom bracket design allows air to flow through the belly into the core of the hull to aid overall system performance.
  • Element 31 thermal interface material is now applied to both the CPU and GPU to help ensure improved heat dissipation.

Meet Alienware’s new 18-inch powerhouse, introducing the M18

The Alienware M Series is designed for gamers who prioritize performance. The all-new Alienware m18 and Alienware m16 powerful stations rise to this challenge.

Alienware’s most powerful laptop, the M18, is in a performance class of its own with customizability
Options covering the full gamut of new CPU and GPU technology. This includes up to 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX processors and the full suite of next-generation NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptop GPUs, as well as next-generation AMD Ryzen processors and Radeon mobile graphics. All of this performance is enabled by a host of key Alienware Cryo-tech advancements.

Here are the main thermal improvements made to the new Alienware m18:

  • Element 31 thermal interface material is now used in both the CPU and GPU.
  • The vapor chamber now covers the GPU and CPU, helping to increase heat capacity by 35%.
  • Seven heat pipes (high from four by 17 metres) to transfer thermal energy to the extended copper fins, which equates to an increase in surface area of over 114%
  • Ultra-thin-blade quad fans increase airflow by 25%

These significant improvements in platform heat capacity (~35% using full speed mode) and cooling pave the way for higher performance CPUs and GPUs, allowing us to push total system power up to 250W.

Impressively, the m18 maintains the same maximum thickness (Z-height) as the m17, while giving gamers 14% more screen space, providing enough space for a full-size keyboard and number pad with optional CHERRY MX mechanical switches, plus dual slots User-replaceable DDR5 SO-DIMMs and unprecedented storage capacity…now up to 9TB of total storage! Available panel options include either 165Hz QHD or 480Hz FHD monitors with Dynamic Display Switching technology, G-SYNC and FreeSync support. It’s all enhanced by structural improvements inside and out that enable a stronger, more rigid chassis – meeting the rugged build quality Alienware customers have come to expect.

For players seeking a more compact power, the m16 offers many of the same
technologies, ergonomics, design characteristics and experimental benefits such as the m18.
