WhatsApp is working on new camera modes and an easier blocking feature

There’s no denying that WhatsApp is fast becoming one of the best messaging apps, and while it’s not as feature-rich as some of the competing apps, that doesn’t stop the Meta-owned platform from testing and releasing new features. There’s a steady stream of features the team is currently working on, and while we know some of them, not all of them are visible.

The latest leak indicates that WhatsApp is working on two features that will improve the overall user experience.

Soon you will be able to block contacts on WhatsApp in a much faster way

WABetaInfo revealed two features the company is currently working on. The first feature separates the tabs in the Camera section by Video and Photo. This means that you can use separate tabs to shoot videos or take photos instead of doing both from the same tab. You can see how this works in the image below.

The second feature is more interesting. Based on this feature, WhatsApp will allow you to block unwanted contacts directly from the notification center instead of opening the app, opening the contact, pressing the three-dot menu, and choosing more, Then block said contact. With the new feature, every time you receive a message in the quick reply section, you will have the option to block. This is how it works.

It should also be noted that these two features have been spotted in different beta versions. Camera mode feature in beta version 2.22.24.21. Where the fast block can be found is in version 2.23.2.5. At the time of writing, we’re not sure when these features will reach the final version or if they will be canceled. But it appears that they are able to improve the overall WhatsApp experience.
