The Razer Quick Charge Stand is a sleeker alternative to the Sony PS5 controller charger

We tested Razer’s PlayStation 5 DualSense Rapid Charge Stand to compare it to Sony’s DualSense Charging Stand. Does Razer’s offering match Sony’s official charger?

We recently tested HyperX’s ChargePlay Duo controller charging station for the PlayStation 5, and while Sony’s own offering was obvious when it came to aesthetics, we were quite pleased with the versatility offered by the HyperX charger. Step into the visually appealing Razer Quick Charge Stand.

Stylish Razer Quick Charge Stand for PS5 DualSense with Razer logo

Razer released the PS5 DualSense chargers earlier this year. Initially, the charging stand came in three color designs, but at the time of writing, there are a total of six colors available, including white, black, red, pink, purple, and blue. These color designs perfectly match the colors of the various DualSense designs, and with offerings from the competition only coming in standard white (including the official Sony charger), this is a plus for some.

Apart from matching the design of the DualSense’s different color variations, the Razer Charging Stand is a great looking accessory. It is visually appealing, well-built, and durable. The stand holds enough weight to keep it steady on the surface. Placing the DualSense is easy and the controller basically moves automatically when placed on the stand. Plus, like HyperX’s DualSense charger, the Razer Quick Charging Stand uses a USB-C to USB-A cable for power. This makes Razer’s offering even more versatile than Sony’s charger — just plug the charger into the USB port on the back of the PS5 (or any other powered USB-A port) and you’re good to go.

Charging an empty DualSense battery is on par with Sony’s cradle and competition offerings—it takes nearly three hours to fully charge a controller.

As a great charging dock as it is, PS5 owners looking to charge two DualSense controllers at once will be disappointed that the Razer Outing can only fit one DualSense controller. Plus, with a price tag of $39.99, it’s also more expensive than competing offerings.

However, those who don’t mind paying a bit more for a single-console charger won’t go wrong with Razer’s impressive PS5 DualSense charging cradle.
