The next Monster Hunter game may be announced during Tokyo Game Show 2023

Monster Hunter Rise is finally coming to the PlayStation and Xbox platforms next month, but the game is far from a new game, as it debuted on Nintendo Switch in 2021. A new entry in the series has yet to be announced, but it has yet to be announced. after. It appears that an announcement may come as late as 2023.

Speaking with Famitsu as part of the magazine’s regular year-end feature, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto commented on what they’re currently focusing on, the free Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak updates launching in winter and spring, as well as on what to look forward to in 2023, the next edition of the Tokyo Expo. for Games, which will take place in September 2023. While he may be looking forward to it for personal reasons, there’s a good chance that Capcom will finally show off what’s next for its series during the event, which is also considering Sunbreak support, will have ended by then.

As mentioned above, Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry in the series. Launching on Nintendo Switch in 2021 and on PC in 2022, the game is among the best entries in the franchise as well as one of the most accessible, as I highlighted in my review of the PC version.

By streamlining some of the more annoying aspects of the Monster Hunter experience and some excellent additions to the formula like Wirebugs and Switch Skills, Monster Hunter Rise easily reaches the highest levels of entries in the series. Although not all the changes and new features were the best, such as Rampage Quests, its general level of quality, and the amazing PC port, it makes the game worth playing for both long-time fans of the series and newcomers.

Monster Hunter Rise has been expanded further with this year’s Sunbreak expansion. The expansion introduces new maps, new monsters, new mechanics and much more which makes it a worthwhile purchase for all fans of the base game, as I made clear in my review.

With a huge number of new and returning monsters, new gameplay mechanics, and great improvements to the formula, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is the massive expansion that the latest entry in the series deserves. While the jump from High Rank to Master Rank doesn’t seem as big as it did in previous entries in the series, Sunbreak does several things so well that most hunters who travel to Elgado and the Citadel won’t be bothered.

Monster Hunter Rise and the Sunbreak expansion are now available on Nintendo Switch and PC worldwide. The base game will launch on January 20th as a digital-only version on PlayStation and Xbox consoles worldwide. The game will also be added to the Xbox Game Pass library on the same day.
