A couple of The Witcher 3 mods shared online a few days ago delivered some welcome visual improvements ahead of the next-gen update next month.
UBER Lod mods greatly improve the lod and draw space for all the grids used by characters, animals, monsters, and objects, as well as all the architectural elements of the game. Using these mods affects performance, so those who play on weaker systems may not be able to use them and still get good framerates.
This mod optimizes the LOD and Draw Distance of all grids used by characters, animals, monsters, and items to their maximum values, removing various LOD transitions from characters. It uses the batch method that edits the LOD directly, without changing the grids themselves, to avoid any problems caused by exporting and importing grids.
This mod doesn’t release anything beyond grids, such as loading an NPC or drawing a distance, only the assets used by them, which means NPCs will appear and disappear at the same distance. This mod also does not include any fixes as seen from other mods, as this mod only edits the draw distance and LOD.
This mod is meant to sit at the bottom of your mod list so it won’t be replaced by any other mods, static, cosmetic or other, that you might be using, and the mod is named such that it is at the bottom by default.
After nearly 3 years in development! This mod aims to fix most aspects of the level of architectural detail in The Witcher 3 by increasing the quality and rendering distance of objects. It also aims to apply patches and fixes whenever possible to specific aspects of the game
The name of the mod is a reference to The Witcher 2’s UberSampling option, which was a means of future-proofing graphics for later generations, and as such, this is intended to future-proof the game so that it remains visually relevant compared to its original rendering.

The Witcher 3 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch worldwide. The next-gen update will launch on December 14th, introducing new features and a selection of welcome improvements.
