Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be released in March

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be Konami’s first entry in the series in a very long time, and it looks like the wait for its release won’t be much longer, with the game apparently launching in just over two months.

As reported on the ResetERA forums, the Belgian division of French retailer Fnac is listing Konami’s next JRPG for March 9. Since Konami hasn’t said much about the Transformers first two entries in the series after their announcement, it’s hard to say if this release date is accurate, so we’ll have to tread it with a grain of salt until official confirmation comes in.

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will allow players to experience the first two entries in the classic JRPG series by Konami with a variety of improvements, such as visual improvements, new character graphics, improved sound, quality of life improvements such as the ability to speed up battles, and more.

Graphical improvements

  • Pixel sprites and environment art enhanced with new screen effects including lighting, clouds and shadow animations, flashing flames, billowing smoke and movement of leaves and insects all add up to a lively atmosphere in the game!
  • The effects and direction have been redesigned, bringing memorable scenes to life in even more beautiful ways!

New character graphics

  • All character images have been updated in high definition. Junko Kawano, who designed the characters for the original version of Suikoden released in 1995, has redrawn all of the character images for the Suikoden I HD Remaster Gate Rune War.

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars releases sometime this year on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We’ll let you know when the game releases as soon as possible, so stay tuned for the latest news.
