Street Fighter 6’s second closed beta test announced; It will take place December 16-19

Street Fighter 6 has various updates regarding its content at launch. Some of this includes a world tour mode, trailers for characters like Ken and Dhalsim, and a closed beta last October. This last note is important for a very specific reason: another pre-release beta is coming in a couple of weeks, with a trailer you can see below.

Suddenly, yes, but it does happen. Between the first and second closed beta tests, some changes were made to the Drive Parry mechanic, which you can see below:

  • Perfect Parrying now has the same projectile damage when attacking an opponent while it’s healing as Perfect Parrying for a hit.
  • If you continue your starting stance after Perfect Parrying the shotgun, if you fire the parry within a certain amount of time, no recovery time for parrying will occur.
  • Level 1 Super Arts for all characters no longer have a projectile ability.

Outside of that, tweaks have been added to the modern controls for certain characters like Jamie and Guile. The game now allows players to reduce native input lag, which is especially useful for 120Hz monitors playing the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. PC users can achieve this by turning the option on and off Vsync and setting the game refresh rate to 120Hz or higher.

You can sign up for the trial from this link, but there are some caveats. First, you need to have a CAPCOM ID and your platform account (for PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or Steam) associated with your CAPCOM ID, which is presumably done as a countermeasure to tokens being resold online. You can apply for the trial only once per CAPCOM ID.

This beta is scheduled to run between December 16-19, 2022, with cross-play capability between all three platforms. Players will be notified on December 11th if they’ve made their way into the beta selection. If you have already entered the first closed beta, there is no need to take any further action; You will automatically enter the second beta.

We’ll continue to update as more information about Street Fighter 6 is released, including updates, new characters, and more. Street Fighter 6 launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam next year.
