The year 2023 is drawing to a close, and as per usual, a number of Japanese developers have shared some of their plans for the coming year with Famitsu and 4Gamer (thanks to Gematsu for the translation). Scroll down for updates from Square Enix, Konami, Capcom, Altus, Sonic Team, and more.
As we have already detailed, capcomHideaki Itsuno promises an update on Dragon’s Dogma 2 in 2023 and Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto wants us to keep an eye on the Tokyo Game Show. In the meantime, we should take a fresh look at Exoprimal soon.

The year 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the Shin Megami Tensei series, and Atlus Seems to tease something new for the series.
Thanks to the long-term support of its many fans, the Shin Megami Tensei series celebrated its 30th anniversary in October 2022! Shin Megami Tensei V has achieved one million sales worldwide, catching the eye of many both in Japan and abroad. sega He’ll be busy, as Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio promises to release “many more titles” and Sonic Team plans to continue the momentum they’ve built in 2022.
“Last year was the biggest year in Sonic history, including the release of the sequel movie, new titles Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers, and the Netflix Sonic Prime animation. We’re gearing up for a second wave to keep fans happy and keep that momentum going in 2023. We’ve already announced We’ve been looking for additional content for Sonic Frontiers, but there’s a lot more outside of that, so please look forward to it.”
SNK He’s working on a new Fatal Fury game and other titles, but producer Kazuhiro Fujishige is also teasing that he’s started working on a new AAA game.
“This year will see the start of development for a new IP with the grand vision of an ‘AAA title from Japan’. We have become a studio where the strengths of our teams made up of our diverse pool of talent will be fully demonstrated!”
Tecmo Koi He has several on the go, including Wild Hearts and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, but they’re also teasing news of Dynasty Warriors and sort of celebrating the upcoming 40th anniversary of Nobunaga’s ambition.
“As Nobunaga’s Ambition series will reach the turning point on its 40th anniversary, I would like to make various preparations to make it an even more exciting celebration with the fans!”
Castlevania / Bloodstained Mastermind Koji Igarashi He plans to finish developing Bloodstained and move on to the next thing.
“I would like to finish working on the remaining content for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. This will lead us to the next step.”
Silent Hill’s new innovator Keiichiro Toyama Bokeh Game Studio Slitterhead is about to finish developing its new horror game.
“Production on Bokeh Game Studio’s debut title, Slitterhead, is nearing its peak.”
