If you’re wondering why you can’t resubmit a video on TikTok, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to find out what might be causing the Repost button to not show up – and how to fix it.

Outdated application

Regular updates are necessary for the optimal functioning of the application. TikTok is no different as each update brings improvements or fixes existing issues. If you haven’t set up automatic updates for TikTok on your mobile device, you may not be able to see the latest developments that the app has to offer.

The resend option is relatively new, so you might not see it until you update the TikTok app.

If you’ve successfully gone through our steps and updated the app, it’s time to get back to TikTok. Find the video you want to share with your followers and check if the app update has returned the option to repost.

The feature is not available for you

Like many other apps, TikTok rolls out new major updates gradually. App developers usually make the app available to a select number of users during the testing phase. After thoroughly testing the feature and receiving feedback, they will roll it out universally.

If you can’t find the resend option in your TikTok app, it might not be available for you yet. Check with your friends from the same country and be patient. We are sure you will be able to enjoy this feature in no time.

The video is not available for reposting

Let’s assume that you are sure that your TikTok app is updated and the resend feature is available in your country. In that case, it’s time to shift our focus from the app to the video you want to share.

Repost option is not available for any video on TikTok. Currently, the only videos you can share with your followers using this option are the videos you find on your “For You” page.

So, if you’ve been following the ravishing TikTok but can’t seem to find a resend button anywhere, you need to retrace your steps. Finding out where you found the video may be the piece of the puzzle you’re missing.

Discover tab

With TikTok, it’s easy to get lost scrolling and forget how you even got to the video you’re watching. Fortunately, you can quickly check if you’re on the “Discover” page.

Click the “Back” button to return to the previous screen. If you see the “Discover” page, you have the answer. The resubmit option is not available for the videos you find there.

The following Tab

Browsing your “home” page looks the same whether you’re browsing the “Watching” or “For You” tab. Because of this, you may forget that you are not actually on your “For You” page.

This wouldn’t be a problem if you could repost videos from both cards. Unfortunately, the Repost button won’t appear if the video you like is on your “Watch” page.

To check this, just look at the top of the screen. If the “Watch” button is enlarged, you will not be able to repost any videos you came across while scrolling on this page.

Inbox tab

Sometimes you can get so caught up in a TikTok video that you forget you didn’t actually find it. Someone sent it to you instead.

Unfortunately, you can’t pass this joy on yet. TikTok does not currently allow re-posting of videos that you have received in your inbox.

Just tap the “Back” button to make sure that’s the case. If your inbox chat with a friend shows up, the video he sent you will have to stay between the two of you for now.

Share the fun

There is probably no better feeling than realizing that your friends are also enjoying a video that you particularly like. If you still can’t use the TikTok Repost button, follow our guide to understand why. Until this feature is made available to you, you can share the fun by manually sending the video to your friends.
