Intel has released its latest drivers for Arc graphics cards that bring some huge improvements to GPU performance, especially in DX9 games.
Intel boosts Arc DX9 gaming performance by up to 2.3 times with the latest GPU drivers, more to come!
In its latest blog post, Intel showed us the performance comparison of the latest Arc driver suite (version 3959) and how it compares to the previous October driver suite (version 3490). I used Intel Arc A770, the flagship graphics card based on the Alchemist GPU architecture, for testing and the results are simply amazing.
Today’s driver release brings a new DX9 implementation to Intel Arc graphics products, including the A770, A750, A380, and our family of Arc motion graphics processors. We use a hybrid approach, i.e. a combination of API technologies, to take advantage of translation layers when a better experience can be provided using one of the more modern APIs.
These improvements will be transparently delivered to the end user through the normal driver distribution process. Details of this application may change over time as our DX9 driver evolves.

According to Intel, the latest drivers are specifically designed to boost performance in DX9 (DirectX 9) games. The company used many popular titles, which are still played by many esports players. The biggest performance boost comes in CSGO, where you get an 80% performance jump in HD (1080p) with High settings and a 77% bump at 1440P with Ultra settings. According to Intel Ryan Schrutethe performance increase up to 2.3x in CSGO when drawing 99th percentile numbers.
Very proud of the engineering teams that have achieved some dramatic improvements in DX9 performance for Intel Arc graphics in a very short period of time. 1.8x fps increase and 2.3×99 fps increase in CS:GO!!! https://t.co/oTJj31odV9

But that’s not all, Intel has already said that it is committed to its Arc GPU roadmap and to offering gamers an enhanced experience. in a tweet, Raja Koduri There’s “more to come,” he said, so these kinds of performance improvements are just the beginning of Arc’s fine wine journey. We’ll keep you posted as more Arc performance improvements come to us in the coming months.
