The latest Intel Core i9-13900KS 6GHz Raptor Lake CPU benchmarks have been leaked, showing up to 15% improvement over the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X.
Intel Core i9-13900KS, world’s first 6GHz desktop CPU, ahead of AMD Ryzen 9 7950X by 15%
The flagship Raptor Lake CPU will be the Intel Core i9-13900KS, which has 24 cores and 32 threads in an 8 P-Core and 16 E-Core configuration. The 13900KS CPU has a “thermal speed boost” frequency of up to 6GHz, making it the first chip to reach that frequency out of the box. The CPU features a “Turbo Boost Max” frequency of up to 5.8GHz while the P-Cores operate at a standard turbo frequency of up to 5.4GHz and the e-cores operate at up to 4.3GHz.

- Core i9-12900KS 8+8 (16/24) – 3.4 / 5.5 GHz – 30MB cache, 125W (PL1) / 241W (PL2)
The CPU will have 68MB of onboard cache and a PL1 rating of 150W rated power up to 253W and more using Max Power profile modes. The CPU is expected to cost around $799 when it hits retail in early 2023 but will be available in limited quantities.

In terms of single-threaded performance, the Intel Core i9-13900KS CPU offers a 15% improvement over the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and a 5% improvement over the Core i9-13900K. In multi-threaded tests, the CPU delivers an improvement of 8% over the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and 3% over the Core i9-13900K.
Now the Core i9-13900KS will not be cheap and will definitely cost a $100-$200 premium over the Core i9-13900K while also consuming much higher power. But that’s why the chip will mostly be a limited production run and the quantities won’t be the same as standard Core i9-13900K CPUs.
