Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will be released on the Epic Games Store this week

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is now only available on PC through the Rockstar Games Store, but soon players will have another purchase option for the collection including three of the best open-world games of all time.

Belbel Con, which has been properly unearthing PlayStation Plus Essential titles for some time, today revealed that the collection will be released on the Epic Games Store on January 19th. The set will also be available at half its regular price during the first week of availability. According to some recent findings, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition may also be coming to Steam soon, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the collection available on Valve’s digital store on January 19th as well.

While the games included in the collection are great, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is far from being the best received Rockstar Games release in recent times. Upon launch, the collection suffered from a variety of issues, as Nathan points out in his review, which were only marginally fixed with post-launch updates.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition brings together some truly groundbreaking games that still provide their share of nostalgic fun, but not much has been done to make them shine here in 2021. Ultimately, a poor visual upgrade, choppy performance, and a lack of functionality. Meaningful updates or additions may make you wonder why you love them in the first place. Perhaps this set could be rolled out with updates from Rockstar (or mods), but for now, it’s still a low bar.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is available now on PC via the Rockstar Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch worldwide.
