Sleeping trolls are powerful and formidable enemies scattered across the various worlds of God of War Ragnarok. These powerful enemies are immune to damage while sleeping but can be awakened by the remnants of a mystical legacy. Awakening them lets you battle them, and upon defeating them, you’ll get rewards and valuable items that can be used to craft Steinbjorn’s armor set, one of the best in the game. This highly defensive equipment can also restore some of Kratos’ health during combat, so you better not miss it.
This guide will show you all of the Sleeping Troll locations in God of War Ragnarok and will also provide you with some tips on defeating them.

How to wake up the sleeping trolls in God of War Ragnarok
If you want to awaken the stone trolls in God of War Ragnarok, you must obtain the Mystic Legacy Relic first. It is located in Midgard, southwest of the Temple of Tire. You will notice a giant ice block with a bright spot in the middle of it. Throw a Draupnir spear at him and make him explode. You will see the corpse of a troll on the ground, the remains will also be there.
Equip it in the list, and when the Troll finds a sleeping stone, you can wake it up by pressing L1 and Circle on your controller. Now, all you have to do is fight and maybe defeat them.
All Sleeping Troll locations in God of War Ragnarok
God of War Ragnarok features four different Sleeping Trolls, two of them in the same location. You need to use the mysterious legacy to wake them up. Where do you find them? You can check out all of the Stone Troll locations below.
#1 – Abandoned Outpost, Midgard
The first Troll can be found in Midgard, a short distance from where you picked up the Mysterious Legacy Relic. This troll, named Blodugr Steinn, is located in the abandoned outpost southwest of Tyre’s temple.
Follow the path past The Lost Treasury, and you will spot it easily after you climb the chain to reach the ruins and follow the path on the left.
#2 – Forbidden Sands, Alfheim
The second Sleeping Troll, named Bjarg Stormr, can be found in Alfheim. Head to The Forbidden Sands, specifically southwest of The Burrows. You will see a grapple point that you can use to get to the upper area, and there you will find the second Troll Stone.
However, this area can only be accessed after completing a file The secret of the sand and the Sand song Deeds. By doing this, you will stop the sandstorm in the kingdom and will be able to explore it in its entirety.
#3 – Noahton Park, Vanaheim
Trolls from the third and fourth stone, Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost, can be found in Vanaheim. From the Mystic Gateway at Freyr’s Camp, near the River Delta, navigate the river and continue to the left. Once you get to Noatun Park, you will easily notice it.
Make sure you clear the area of all other enemies before you start fighting against the trolls. Otherwise, you may be in trouble during the battle.
How to defeat sleeping trolls
These trolls rely heavily on the prop in their hands. They will try to hit you with this weapon and can do great damage to you if they hit you. However, their attacks are very slow, and you will see them coming, so be prepared and avoid them. You will have enough time to damage them between one of their attacks and the next.
When you’re fighting against Golrab of the Ashes and Golrab of the Frost, try to focus on one troll at a time, make sure to avoid attacks from the other, and finish him off. Then, you can devote yourself to the second enemy without oscillating between the two. Do not forget that you can also count on the help of your companion.
