Finally Announcing REACTIVATE Co-Op Online Action Game; Beta release in 2023

Finally, TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE has been announced at The Game Awards 2022 after years of speculation, rumors, and leaks. According to the latest rumors, Splash Damage (Gears Tactics) is listed as the developer of the game, having acquired Certain Affinity. The news is that Splash Damage has also announced the acquisition of UK studio Bulkhead, which is already helping develop TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE. The combined workforce is over 500 employees and also working on other original projects.

Splash Damage CEO Richard Jolly said:

Growing up with G1 TRANSFORMERS in the 80’s means he will always hold a special place in my heart, it’s an honor and privilege to work with such a beloved franchise. We know fans have been waiting a long time for a new TRANSFORMERS game on consoles and PC, and we’re going to give them the experience they deserve.

Eugene Evans, senior vice president of business development and digital licensing at Hasbro, added:

Fans have been eagerly awaiting a new game that will immerse them in the iconic TRANSFORMERS world. We’re excited to share a first look at one of gaming’s biggest nights. Splash Damage has a proven track record with some of the most popular IPs in the world and has a strong creative passion for the TRANSFORMERS brand. We are confident that TRANSFORMERS: REACTIVATE will be hugely popular among the TRANSFORMERS community and continues Hasbro’s Blueprint 2.0 strategy of creating first-class branded entertainment across diverse categories and platforms including video games.

Not many details about the game have been shared. We know it will be an online co-op action game available for PC and consoles. In addition, a closed beta test is scheduled for sometime in 2023. There is no sign-up yet, but we believe it will eventually be published on the official website.
