CD Projekt expects “structural changes” after the merger of Spokko and RED Studio

We haven’t talked about Spokko, CD Projekt’s mobile company, in a while. This subsidiary was the company responsible for the Pokemon GO-like game The Witcher: Monster Slayer. The keyword is “was”, as it will be combined with RED studio. It looks like CD Projekt will follow up on this action with various “structural changes”.

Let’s start with a short “Where is she now?” In The Witcher: Monster Slayer. He is dead. On January 31, 2023, the game will be pulled from the Google Play and Apple App Stores, with a full shutdown in June 2023. After January 31, 2023, there will be no new content added to the game. Not that there are new daily and timed monsters, shields, quests, quests, or events.

Spokko will be integrated into CD Projekt’s flagship studio RED. What this means for CD Projekt (at least, from what was said in The Witcher: Monster Slayer’s closing FAQ) is that there will be several post-merger structural changes.

Going forward, we plan to turn Spokko into CD PROJEKT RED, while giving part of its staff the opportunity to join CD PROJEKT’s core development projects. During this transition, there will be some employees who will unfortunately be let go – however, we will do everything we can to support all of our employees affected by this situation and ensure the transition to the next step in their career is as easy and as safe as possible.

So, what will happen to the employees? Well, we can only speculate that some part of the staff will most likely be considered redundant. After that, they will be laid off. Now, how big is this portion? We’ll have to wait and see CD Projekt announce its next course of action in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates on this story as they become available.
