Gearbox’s chaotic first-person, Borderlands 3, has been rated for its supposed Nintendo Switch release in Europe. This rating also includes listings for every piece of content, including the game’s DLC. This could mean that Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to get in on the mayhem.
The list can be found on the European Game Information (PEGI) website. The list includes information regarding the release date. It should be noted that the Nintendo Switch release listing states that the game will be released on Switch on January 12, 2022. So, it looks like we’ll have to take back what we said in 2017. The listings include the following content:
- Borderlands 3
- Borderlands 3: Guns, Love and Tentacles: Wainwright and Hammerlock get married
- Borderlands 3: Blood Bounty
- Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the fantastic Fustercluck
- Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut
- Borderlands 3: Designer Cut
Each of these lists received a PEGI 18 rating which states that the game should only be played by adults. The reason behind the rating is reported to be graphic violence, use of coarse language, and encouragement of gambling. In addition, the game’s microtransactions where you can buy digital goods with real currency are also being questioned.
The game may be coming to Nintendo Switch sooner rather than later. One thing is for sure, it will definitely be interesting to see this game in portable form… This is not Steam Deck. We reviewed the game in 2019, and our reviewer Nathan Birch had the following to say about his experience:
Borderlands 3 is another plentiful bullet-riddled buffet for fans. Hunting for that perfect weapon is still addictive, and the precision action is better than ever, but the flat writing, frustrating level design at times, and lack of polish limit the game’s potential. If you’ve been starving for more Borderlands, then by all means, dig in, but you might find that you’ve filled up sooner than you expected.
Borderlands 3 is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S and PC. The Stadia version of the game will be available until the service shuts down next year.
