AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Geekbench 5 OpenCL and Vulkan benchmarks leaked, require improved drivers
Geekbench 5 benchmarks leaked showing OpenCL & Vulkan performance of the upcoming graphics card. Based on the benchmark numbers, we can see that the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card does not use optimized drivers because the performance is slower than the RX 6900 XT (RDNA 2). The RDNA 3 graphics card is said to be up to 60-70% faster than the Radeon RX 6950 XT, so one should expect much better performance when the final drivers drop.

Finally, we have the Vulkan benchmarks where the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX ends up being slower with a score below the 100K barrier. That’s 20% slower than the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card and again, we’ll blame the early drivers or no (at all) drivers for this result. We can also see the card boost up to 2270MHz which is well below the peak boost clock of 2.5GHz.

“Official” AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB Graphics Card Specifications
The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card uses the full Navi 31 XTX GPU featuring a total of 48 WGPs, 96 CUs, and 6144 cores. The graphics card’s base clock is maintained at 2.3GHz base clock and 2.5GHz base clock, providing up to 61 TFLOP of computing performance at 355W TBP.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card will also carry 6 MCDs which will have an infinity cache of 16MB per die and 96MB in total over a 384-bit wide bus interface. The card features 20GB of VRAM and has a 20Gbps bandwidth offering up to 960GB/s (3.5TB/s with Infinity Cache).
AMD Radeon RX 7900 graphics cards offer “RDNA 3”
The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB and Radeon RX 7900 XT 20GB graphics cards will be available on December 13 at $999 and $899, respectively.
