AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT drops to $880 in the US, below MSRP on NVIDIA 4070 Ti launch day

AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT can now be found below MSRP in the US and EU and is available for as low as $880 in the US.

AMD RX 7900 XT Now At Prices Below MSRP, $20 Cheaper Than $800 Reference Price

This is a surprising development that comes on the same day as the launch of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card which should have an MSRP of $799 USD but there are only a few dedicated cards that stick to that price. The majority of RTX 4070 Ti cards cost around $1000 USD and some are even higher. With that said, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT’s lower price tag might make it a slightly better value versus the RTX 4070 Ti.

Newegg recently lowered the price of the XFX Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card by $20. It may not seem like a drastic price change, but the new GPU series hasn’t been on the market for a whole month. European markets were discounting fee cards two weeks ago, and reduced the cost from €1,049 to €999 during that time. However, the graphics card has now been reduced by 10 euros, which is a decrease of almost six percent since launch.

At BestBuy, the difference between Radeon RX 7900 XT and RTX 4070 Ti is only $40 as shown below:

While this price reduction is only for the reference model, readers should note that thermal throttling issues only apply to reference Radeon RX 7900 XTX cards and no such case has been reported on a reference RX 7900 XT card that uses a different cooling design. . This raises the question of whether trust issues with AMD have become an issue for the company, especially in light of how the company has handled flaws and rejected many RMAs.

Now the Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card, the only stable design made by AMD, will be the only real competitor to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card, which launched today based on a tweet from MicrocentreConsumers aren’t as excited about the card as the tweets make it out to be.

At Newegg most of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics cards are available but none of the models are available at reference prices. Those priced at MSRP are now sold out and are currently on “Out of Stock” while those available start at $849 and go up to $1,049 for most premium variants.

NVIDIA may also have trust issues with consumers as well, since the main RTX 4090 GPU has several melting and overheating issues with the 12VHPWR cable and connector. We’ll have to wait for the quarterly sales numbers to see how both issues affect the AMD and NVIDIA market.

If you were to get both cards at $899, which card would you choose?
